General Questions
What is an Occupational Therapist?
An Occupational Therapist (OT) is a healthcare professional who helps individuals participate in meaningful and necessary daily activities—known as occupations—that support their independence, well-being, and quality of life. These occupations can include self-care tasks, work-related activities, social engagement, and mobility.
OTs work with people of all ages who may have physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges that impact their ability to perform everyday tasks. They provide assessments, therapy, and practical solutions such as assistive technology, home modifications, and rehabilitation strategies to help individuals regain or enhance their ability to engage in daily life.
